About
It’s been about a decade now that I’ve been dedicating my work to creative design. I specialize in branding and logo design, and apply strong attention to detail as well as careful consideration of function into every project I’m involved with. My philosophy is that good design is deliberate. It can stand on its own, yet fits together. Details matter, even in simple design.
That’s a good question, and I guess my answer is that there’s just too much fun to be had in branding an image. Seagull Vixon is a name I got to choose for all of this, which resonates throughout my design. Based on two of my favorite navigators of land and sea, the Seagull and Fox collectively represent the wild, yet adaptive style that I aim for in my work and elsewhere.
I was born and raised in a small, beautiful lake-town just northwest of Austin. I focus my efforts toward studying and practicing essential softwares, techniques, and styles. Fascinated with quality creative work, I continue to evaluate and strive to better myself with each project and challenge.
Currently, I’m traveling the US and Canada in my van! I’ve started a travel blog where you can see what I’ve been up to. It’s full of stories, photos, design stuff, recipes – you name it. Check it out using the button below.
So what exactly do I do? Well, I design and create. It’s as simple as that, really. I love solving new problems and applying design-minded planning to outside-the-box ideas. No project is impossible, but that’s not to say you should hire me to knit you a sweater. Here are a few areas where I really shine:
Branding / Logo Design
Branding is massively important. Often the subject of a first impression – making simple, bold imagery that lingers in the mind and forms familiarity is what I do best. Working with companies and individuals to create branding that defines their message and communicates to people is one of my favorite ways to enjoy design.
Photography
I picked up my first camera when I was 12 years old. Mom’s old Canon F1, which is still in use today. Now, I use combined digital and film media to capture product photos, portraits, and nature photography for a variety of projects.
Product Design
A careful balance of form and function, the art of product design is made of up passionate problem solvers. Few things are as memorable as the way something feels to use, and creating that feeling is a part of design which ties in with our core problem solving skills.
Am I the right fit for your current or upcoming project? Have an awesome idea, or just want to say hey?
